![]() The radio is big and looks and feels like a true communications-grade receiver, such as an ICOM costing thousands. The jump to an alpha Uniden scanner is quite a step up at $529.95. The lack of alpha is more than made up by the great price of the radio, $216.95. ![]() The one feature it lacks is an alpha-numeric display, but with software you can see the corresponding alpha tag to a frequency or talkgroup on your PC (see ARC898). If you would like to participate in this testing, please email in the box: ![]() Once testing is complete, the firmware will be made available for download at at no charge to customers. When properly configured, the custom band plan will restore trunking operation on rebanded Motorola systems. GRE is pleased to announce that we have finished development of a free firmware upgrade that will allow customers to configure the PSR-300 and PSR-400 with custom 800 MHz trunking bands. The PSR-300 and PSR-400 are not able to receive rebanded Motorola 3600 baud control trunked radio systems that previously used frequencies in the 866-869 MHz range before they were rebanded. GRE is has received reports of PSR-300 and PSR-400 radios used in areas of Utah that are no longer able to follow rebanded 800 MHz systems, including sites in the UCAN network.
